Monica Ahearn, Education Advocate, Parent Coordinator
Monica Ahearn has spent her entire career advocating for children in both the private and public-school settings. As a prior teacher, Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant, Principal and Director of Special Services, she fought tirelessly for her students to receive the best education possible in the most appropriate settings.
Monica believes that her philosophy of helping children and families aligns perfectly with that of Manes and Weinberg, LLC, and she joined the firm as an Advocate to work with families who seek education services for their children. Monica also serves as a Parenting Coordinator, assisting parents to resolve parenting issues as well as an expert when parents disagree regarding an appropriate school program for their child.
Through The New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education (NJCIE), Monica provides workshops to teachers, administrators and parents on how to meet the needs of all learners in every classroom, and the special education rights afforded to parents and children.
Monica lives with her husband, three dogs and two cats. She loves to travel and visit her children in Rhode Island and Virginia, and she especially loves spending time with her two grandchildren.
