Jessica Mass is an associate at Manes & Weinberg. Prior to joining the firm, she completed a judicial clerkship with The Honorable Theresa E.Mullen, J.S.C. (Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Family Part,Union County).
Before transitioning her practice to New Jersey, Jessica was an associate at a law firm in New York City. There, her practice areas included complex & general commercial litigation, intellectual property law and media & entertainment law.
While she was an undergraduate and law student, Jessica held a variety of legal internships. Jessica was an intern at The Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, the UJA-Federation of New York and Nickelodeon (Viacom). These internships gave Jessica an in-depth knowledge of the laws and regulations surrounding children’s interests as well as their online safety and privacy. In addition, she held internships at NBC and WOR-710 AM.
Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University) with a concentration in Family & Matrimonial Law. There, she was a Howard M. Squadron fellowship recipient. Additionally, Jessica served as Vice President of the Cardozo Advocates for Kids. She was also Staff Editor for the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution.
Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, with a double major in Journalism and Jewish History & Civilization from New York University’s prestigious Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. Jessica was an active writer and editor for the Washington Square News, NYU’s independent student newspaper.
With her unique background in litigation, writing, child advocacy and family law, Jessica is a dedicated and thorough advocate for her clients. She is especially adept at handling matters that involve the intersection of family law and education law as well as drafting complex motions and petitions.
While Jessica was always involved in organizations aimed at safeguarding the interests of children, she was drawn to the specific field of special education law after serving as a Family Court Law Clerk. As a Law Clerk, she witnessed the multitude of issues and complexities that come up in family court when planning for a special needs child’s educational and financial future. Jessica is thrilled to apply the knowledge she acquired in the Family Law arena to help children with special needs.
Jessica speaks Hebrew fluently and has a working knowledge of Spanish. Jessica was raised in nearby Essex County and now resides in Union County.
